Job Qualifications:

The aerospace or electrical designer supports various company projects and programs across the entire life cycle of design and development. This designer position requires close collaboration with the engineering design group supporting preliminary and detail design of aircraft electrical systems and controls.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Work as an individual contributor under supervision of the Product Definition manager.
  • Support the electrical engineering team while producing aircraft electrical schematics and wire harness manufacturing drawings.   
  • Create and maintain schematics and drawings of installations, assembly and detail components.
  • Prepare detailed design packages for review, check and release.
  • Coordinate with members of mechanical engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality control and other departments as required to mature the design from conception to production.  
  • Contribute to periodic design reviews to ensure designs meet the requirements.
  • Provide hands-on support during prototype electrical system and harness construction and testing.


Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years experience in harness design, electrical drawings, and schematic capture.
  • Associates' degree in Electrical drafting or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Mentor Graphics Capitol with a focus on logical design and Harness XC. 
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with aircraft engineering and/or manufacturing development of electrical parts and harness design.
  • Experience with vehicle electrification and charging systems.
  • Experience with high voltage battery systems and battery management systems.
  • Working knowledge of NX and Teamcenter and applying definition with PMI.

  • Domestic and international travel up to 10 % may be required.
